It has been such a pleasure working with Ann. She did an excellent job understanding the constraints of the project along what we wanted to achieve. With good use of color, space, and design, Ann managed to create an appropriate kitchen for our home while keeping it warm and inviting, even fitting in an island with plenty of room when we were skeptical it could be done. The feature hutch wall she designed is a showstopper with great balance and detail. Ann pushed us on the 2-tone cabinetry, and it ended up making the space – a great highlight along with the tile backsplash and the gorgeous marble counters. Ann has a great design sense, is highly professional, and is very easy to work with. We couldn’t be happier with our project!

We had a really unusable and small kitchen space that didn’t fit into any standard kitchen layout and didn’t have many options for knocking down walls to generate a space that made sense. We hired Ann to help us figure out a way and she exceeded all of our expectations.

Ann is the consummate professional. She is easy to communicate with and readily available to answer any questions you may have. We renovated our entire first floor, adding a bathroom, mudroom, and extension to our living and kitchen areas. We also reworked an existing area into a pantry/laundry room and installed an entirely new kitchen. Taking on a project so large is daunting and having Ann to help make decisions has been life-saving! She helped with floor plan layout, cabinet design, paint colors, countertops, wall tile and backsplash, flooring, etc. Most importantly, she was aware of budget restrictions and found materials that are beautiful to fit within our constraints. We hired Ann to help design our addition and renovation on our 1900s home. This included a new kitchen and dining area, a mudroom, and a master suite. Ann simplified the process for us, which would have been overwhelming otherwise.

My husband and I hired Ann to help with our second floor house renovations. Ann was by far the best decision we made in the process. We both work full time and utilizing Ann made the project seamless. Her skills and expertise were exactly what we needed. She was very dedicated to our project from the planning to the finishing touches. She has an architectural background so her experience in creating sample plans is amazing. She thought of designs we could never envision. Our home was built over 100 years ago and it holds a lot of character and charm. Ann was adamant about keeping the historic charm of the design while still incorporating a young modern feel to it. She is very thorough and fair in her assessment of the project and when we went slightly over her estimated billable hours she let us know ahead of time as to not be surprised but it was well worth it. She was a lifesaver every step of the way. She worked very well with our hired contractor and counter parties. She went and gathered all the samples for flooring, tiles, vanity, and paint. That in itself was a tremendous help. The details of the design are what overwhelmed me and Ann was able to narrow down the samples based on my tastes. I shared with her my pinterest page and I have to say my bathroom is a perfect combination of all my pins. She is the expert and her experience is exactly what you need when undertaking a major project such as ours. Without her, our bathroom and extended renovations would not be as beautiful as they are today! We are thankful everyday for Ann as we enjoy our updated home and appreciate every detail. I recently had the pleasure of working with Ann on the redesign and complete remodel of my primary bathroom. This was a project that I had wanted to do for many years so I had some pre-existing ideas of what I needed as far as functionality and aesthetic. From the first time that Ann came to my house to look at the existing bathroom, she had innovative suggestions to open up the space and maximize the beauty of existing architectural features in the room. Her creative thinking opened up possibilities that I had never considered. She also gently nudged me out of my comfort zone while listening to my ideas. She never pushed any particular choices on me, but guided me with her experience and design sensibility. She was spot on. She even found the crown jewel for over my tub—a natural crystal chandelier that provides the finishing touch!
Ann also recommended the contractor that I ultimately chose to complete the job. Their working relationship added to the ease of doing a project of this magnitude as I worked from home throughout the duration of the remodel. Ann’s professionalism and that of every single subcontractor made what could have been a very stressful time, a pleasurable experience.

I am a very demanding client. I expect a project will be well designed and managed. I expect competency. I expect attention to detail. Ann Maguire Design met and then exceeded my expectations for a bathroom gut job. The end result is an exciting and comfortable bathroom that suits our 1852 antique, small Victorian house.
This was not an easy job. Ann Maguire Design had to work with limited space and a difficult Mansard roof line. Ann Maguire Design carefully put together the plan, presented a color scheme and recommended material options based on my request for a low or no maintenance bathroom. When we hired Ann for our kitchen renovation we had already started the renovation process with another design build firm, and after feeling like we weren’t getting what we needed, we decided to hire a contractor and a designer separately so we could get the most out of our money and find someone who would listen to us and keep our style at the forefront, while also providing a few unique ideas for our kitchen.
Ann was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. She was organized and on-time with her design ideas. While we had a basic layout in mind, she brought a few new ideas that really elevated the space. She worked well with our contractor and made that process much easier on us. Where we really saw value from Ann was helping us bring our whole vision together. We collaborated closely when it came to choosing colors, finishes, lighting, and other details. She brought us new ideas we hadn’t thought of, and was always gracious if we didn’t choose her recommendation (though most of the times we did!). We were very involved in the design process, but I have no doubt that someone who would like to be less involved would benefit from Ann’s eye and design expertise. She also helped us understand where we’d get the most value for our money — where it was worth a splurge. Lastly, Ann kept us on track with decisions and helped us understand what our other vendors might need to know, especially when it came to cabinet design.
Overall we are thrilled with our kitchen and would absolutely recommend Ann!

Ann was very receptive to my vision for my kitchen even when it wasn’t her first suggestion, but she also gently guided me to accept her suggestions over my own inclinations in a few areas and I’m very glad that she did. She last worked on a master bedroom “face lift” for us, including a vastly redesigned walk-in closet, and the outcome was just what I had hoped for (but couldn’t visualize on my own). She has excellent insight and taste! Recently, we have begun working together again on a mantle redesign and a significant project at our lake house. Ann has helped me re-do the master and family bathrooms in my home, as well as the kitchen, with beautiful results. She has a great eye for color and design, but worked closely with me to fit in with my vision of what I wanted for my home. Everything in my 80+ year old home is “non-standard” but that did not faze Ann, she still found a way to get what I wanted. Thank you Ann Maguire for converting the upstairs of our barn/garage into a wonderful executive office, a welcoming family game room on cold winter days, and a retreat where the ‘manly men’ of the neighborhood can gather to think great thoughts, watch rugby and sample single malt. From designing the floor plan, to working with the contractor, to picking out the TV model, Ann was the key ingredient in every decision.
